The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 – review

Last night was the London premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 and I was lucky enough to attend. The atmosphere was almost surreal considering the million mask march (anti-capitalist protest) was taking place at the same time as the premiere. Unfortunately I was unable to bring my phone into the theatre and so I was unable to provide you guys with pictures but I do have the next best thing! a review of the film…

If you have been following the films and/or read the books, then you will know that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 is the last in the franchise, although there has been whispers that there may be more films!?

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 was everything I expected it to be! the film was full of action and yet still a bit of a tear jerker with a few epic ‘OMG’ moments. Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) goes on a mission to assassinate President Snow and liberate the citizens of Panem. Katniss and her friends Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) leave district 13 to go to Panem, the journey is a struggle for the several fatalities, ambushes and booby traps on the way. Meanwhile Peeta is struggling to understand what is real and what is fake after having been brainwashed and Gale is still very much in love with Katniss and unsure where he stands.
Overall the film was AMAZING, there aren’t many films out there with lots of action, a love triangle and a strong female lead. I definitely recommend you go see it as soon as it is out!!!
