These day’s the majority of actor’s and actresses on TV are also recording artist’s (selfish, I know) and although there are a lot of recording artists that should probably stay in the studio there are also a lot of them that I kinda prefer to see on the big screen. In no specific order, here are my top ten…
1. Jennifer Lopez
Ever since I watched Selena (2003, Picture above) I have been kinda obsessed with J.Lo (in an appreciative way, not a creepy way) and her amazing talent. She is like the epitome of a triple threat! she can sing, dance and act.
I love a good Rom-Com and in my opinion i think J.Lo really does these kinds of roles justice.
Monster In Law (2005)
The Wedding Planner (2001)
Aaliyah was another triple threat, she could sing, dance and act. Although she only starred in two feature film’s they where both great films and contrasting genre’s which is quite interesting considering her short career on the big screen.
Although Aaliyah passed away in 2001 you could just tell that she would have had an even bigger and successful career both in music and on the big screen.
Romeo Must Die (2000)
Queen of the Damned (2002)
3. Tupac Shakur
Tupac was known for his performing arts education but was also a talented rapper. His first song, ‘nothing but trouble’ (1991) debuted in his first feature film of the same name, ‘nothing but trouble’ (1991).
Since ‘nothing but trouble’ Tupac was a part of 9 more films up until he passed away in 1996. Another talented person gone to soon but remembered through his works.
Nothing But Trouble (1991)
Poetic Justice (1993)
4. Ice Cube
Ice Cube was known for being a part of the controversial group, N.W.A (love em’) and started his career in film with the classic ‘Boyz n the Hood’ (1991). Ever since his first film, Ice has made a name for himself on the big screen.
Ice Cube has also branched out into writing, directing and producing.
Boyz n the Hood (1991)
5. Justin Timberlake
I was pleasantly surprise by Justin Timberlake‘s acting. I first watched him in ‘Alpha Dog’ (2006) and I really enjoyed it. Justin can do funny and serious roles which is not easy for everyone.
When i watch Justin on the big screen i almost forget that he’s even a singer (in a good way) he really takes on the characters he portrays.
Alpha Dog (2006)
Friends with Benefits (2011)
The Social Network (2010)
I love Tyrese (who doesn’t??) he is an amazing singer, super good looking model and a great actor. Most of you will know him from the fast and furious franchise.
Tyrese has been on the big on screen since 1993 and has certainly made in impression.
Furious 7 (2015)
Four Brother’s (2005)
Baby Boy (2000)
This one is not very shocking considering the family she comes from, of course she can act too! Janet has starred in several films and TV show’s.
I really like her as an actress, she has played some really tough and emotional roles in recent years.
Poetic Justice (1993)
Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps ()
Why Did I Get Married Too (2010)
Common is a fiercely talented rapper and actor. He is known for his thought provoking music..
… but he is killing it on the big screen
Smokin’ Aces (2006)
Jared Leto is best known as a part of his band, ’30 seconds to mars’. In recent years he has been consistent in the film scene.
He was first acknowledged for his role in the TV show ‘My So Called Life’ (1994-1995) and has been acting in TV show’s and films ever since.
My So Called Life (1994-1995)
Suicide Squad (2016)
10. Will Smith
Probably the king of all recording artist’s turned actor’s. Will Smith has been on our screens and on our playlists since the late 1980’s.
Will is one of those actors that everyone knows and loves.
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (1990-1996)
Men In Black (1997)
Bad Boy’s (1995)
what about you guys (if anyone is actually reading this) anyone you think deserves a mention?
